I'm the founder of Grow The Books. My spouse is an entrepreneur (yes I do their books too). They’ve been very open and honest about their struggle with making sense of numbers. Even with their success, looking at a P&L makes them want to pluck their eyes out. So I took over the books and made the process simple and helpful.
I've been in education since 2003 and I've run an online business in the retail space. Also, married to a therapist so I’ve really seen what it’s like to run a practice. I also know, as a dad and husband, that you'd rather spend time with your family than looking at spreadsheets.
We are in this together. I have a team of bookkeepers, that truly care about their clients. How much does bookkeeping cost?
Monthly packages run from $225 to $625 a month, based on how many transactions and accounts your business has. If you're above 250 transactions a month or 7 accounts, we quote it custom rather than force you into a tier that doesn't fit.
Cleanup work is priced separately, starting at a $1,200 base rate.
How do I know which package I need?
Two numbers decide it: how many transactions run through your business in a typical month, and how many accounts we're reconciling. An account is any bank account, credit card, or payment platform like PayPal or Stripe.
If you're between levels or not sure, we'll work it out on the consult. Nobody gets sold a bigger package than they need.
What if I don't know how many transactions I have?
Most people don't, and you don't need to figure it out before you call. If you want a rough number, count how many times in a typical month you make a deposit or pay for an expense. That's close enough to land in the right range.
Or don't. We can work it out for you on the consult by looking at your accounts together. If we put you in the wrong level, we move you, we don't bill you for the mistake.
What if I go over my transaction limit?
We'll tell you before it becomes a problem, review what changed, and recommend a simple upgrade so your books stay accurate. We'll walk you through the transition so there are no surprises on an invoice.
Going over your limit usually means your business grew. That's the good version of this conversation.
What's included in every package?
Monthly categorization and reconciliation, monthly reports you can actually read, and video check-ins through the year to go through those reports together. You get a dedicated QuickBooks Certified bookkeeper you can email directly, not a shared inbox and not a chat bot.

Do you handle my taxes?
Right now we focus on the bookkeeping and work alongside your accountant. We prepare accurate, tax ready books and coordinate with them directly, so filing season is straightforward instead of a scramble.
If you don't have an accountant yet, we can tell you what to look for in one.
Why not just use my accountant's in-house bookkeeper?
Plenty of people do, and there are two reasons we'd push back on it. It usually costs more. And when the bookkeeper and the accountant sit in the same firm, things get missed, because nobody in that room is checking the other's work.
We're independent, which means we'll raise a question with your accountant when something doesn't look right. We don't mind disagreeing and working an issue through with them. That friction is the point; it's what gets you the most accurate books.
